SECTION 1 POLICY STATEMENT
1.1. The University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) contributes to the economic, social, environmental, and cultural advancement of Morocco and Africa through an emphasis on developing the capacity of its graduates for innovation and entrepreneurship.
1.2. UM6P is dedicated to cultivating a culture of social entrepreneurship and sustainability by empowering its students to develop solutions that generate economic value while addressing social and environmental challenges. The university emphasizes ethical leadership, social responsibility, creativity, critical thinking, and technological skills as core components of its curriculum. Enabling students to become successful entrepreneurs and innovators, who make meaningful contributions to society by developing new products and processes that help address the world’s most challenging problems.
1.3. Entrepreneurship education is an integral component of the learning journey at UM6P. It is embedded in the university’s academic programs, co-curricular activities and experiential learning opportunities ensuring that all students regardless of their field of study have the chance to develop entrepreneurial skills and mindsets.
1.4. UM6P fosters a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem that includes access to state-of-the-art facilities, expert mentorship, network of industry partners, investors and alumni. This ecosystem supports the development of innovative ideas and the creation of new ventures.
1.5. The university actively promotes interdisciplinary collaboration, encouraging students from diverse academic backgrounds to work together on entrepreneurial projects. This approach enhances the richness of ideas and solutions, driving innovation across multiple sectors.
1.6. The university supports the commercialization of student and faculty innovations, providing guidance on intellectual property rights, patents and market strategies. UM6P aims to turn innovative ideas into viable products and services that can compete in the global marketplace.
1.7. UM6P is committed to continuous improvement in its entrepreneurship education programs. The university regularly evaluates these programs through feedback from students, alumni and industry stakeholders to ensure they remain relevant and effective in a rapidly changing world.
SECTION 2 SCOPE AND APPLICABILITY
2.1. This policy document applies to all entrepreneurship education opportunities offered through the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, whether as part of a degree program or as a co-curricular activity. It encompasses all students and stakeholders involved in entrepreneurship education initiatives.
SECTION 3 PURPOSE
3.1. The purpose of this policy is to establish a structural framework for entrepreneurship education at UM6P, ensuring that students receive comprehensive training and support to develop their entrepreneurial skills and mindset.
3.2. This policy aims to:
- Encourage Innovation and Creativity: Inspire students to think creatively and innovatively, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship within the university. Provide Practical Knowledge and Skills: Equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to successfully identify, develop, and execute entrepreneurial opportunities.
- Promote Economic and Social Development: Contribute to the economic and social development of Morocco and Africa by empowering students to create sustainable businesses and innovative solutions to societal challenges and make meaningful contributions that positively impact their communities.
- Foster Sustainable Development: Cultivate a mindset among students that integrates sustainability into entrepreneurial ventures and promotes environmental responsible practices and solutions by equipping them with entrepreneurial skills needed to address and overcome sustainability challenges.
- Facilitate Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Encourage collaboration across different fields of study, leveraging diverse perspectives to drive innovation and entrepreneurial success.
- Support Entrepreneurial Ventures: Provide resources, mentorship and support to help students transform their ideas into viable businesses.
- Foster a Global Perspective: Prepare students to operate in an international marketplace and navigate the complexities of global entrepreneurship by exposing them to global best practices and fostering international partnerships.

SECTION 4 DEFINITIONS
4.1. Students: those individuals enrolled or participating in an academic program within UM6P.
4.2. Entrepreneurship Education: A structured learning process aimed at equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to innovate, initiate, and manage ventures. It fosters an entrepreneurial mindset characterized by adaptability, risktaking, resilience, critical thinking and a commitment to value creation. Through experiential learning, practical application and exposure to real-world challenges, entrepreneurship education empowers individuals to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurial endeavors, catalyzing economic growth, social impact and personal fulfillment.
4.3. Entrepreneurial Mindset: A set of attitudes, skills, and behaviors that enable individuals to identify opportunities, take initiative, embrace risk and persist through challenges to create value and drive innovation.
4.4. Innovation Ecosystem: A collaborative network of stakeholders, including universities, industry partners, government agencies, investors and entrepreneurs that supports the development and commercialization of new ideas and technologies.
4.5. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: The integration and cooperation of different academic disciplines and fields of study to foster innovation and address complex challenges through diverse perspectives and expertise.
4.6. Mentorship: A supportive relationship in which an experienced individual (mentor) provides guidance, advice, and support to a less experienced individual (mentee) to help them achieve their personal and professional goals.
4.7. Seed Funding: Initial capital provided to early-stage startups to help them develop their product or service, validate their business model, and prepare for further investment and
growth.
4.8. Incubation: A program that provides startups with resources, mentorship, and support to help them develop their business ideas, build their products and establish a sustainable business model.
4.9. Acceleration: A program that helps startups scale their business rapidly by providing access to mentorship, funding, market opportunities and other resources.
4.10. Ethical Leadership: Leadership that is guided by respect for ethical beliefs and values, and for the dignity and rights of others. It emphasizes integrity, accountability and social responsibility in decision-making and actions.
4.11. Sustainability: Sustainable Development is expressed by the sustainability and improvement of present and future generations and is achieved by a balance between the efforts invested in the living environment (environment), the way of living (society) and the standard of living (economy). Sustainable Development aims to ensure that the interaction and complementarity between the issues of environment, modes and standards of living are taken into account by all actors in the environment and guide the decision making processes and the actions that result from them.
4.12. Intellectual Property (IP): All assets, technical data, inventions, designs and models, methods, products, improvements, processes, results, discoveries, varieties, and descendants, whether or not likely to benefit from legal protection, including any know how. make, demonstrations, plans, specifications, prototypes, strains, topographies, geographical indications, models, software including source and object codes, and reports; also includes trademarks and certification marks, internet domain names, logos, symbols, trade dress, trade names, copyrights, patents, applications patents, patent extensions, applications or computer programs designed, developed, or put into practice, and which are not in the public domain.
4.13. Co-Curricular Activity: Structured programs and activities that complement the academic curriculum, designed to enhance entrepreneurial skills through practical, hands on experiences. These include workshops & seminars, hackathons & competitions, incubation & acceleration programs, networking events, mentorship programs, internships, community engagement projects, innovation labs, Fab Labs.

5.1. The University Mohammed VI Polytechnic (UM6P) recognizes that entrepreneurship is a vital catalyst for innovation, economic growth, and societal development. UM6P is committed to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among its students, empowering them to become job creators.
5.2. Through entrepreneurship education UM6P aims to:

5.2.2. Provide Comprehensive Education: offer a curriculum covering ideation, business planning, finance, marketing, and leadership.
5.2.3. Facilitate Practical Experience: provide internships, incubators, mentorship programs and real-world projects.
5.2.4. Promote Interdisciplinary Collaboration : encourage collaboration among students from diverse fields.
5.2.5. Support Entrepreneurial Ventures: establish support mechanisms, such as seed funding, networking events, and access to resources.
5.2.6. Foster an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: collaborate with industry partners, government agencies, investors and alumni networks.

The university maintains strong connections with industry leaders, startup accelerators, venture capital firms, and government agencies to facilitate these opportunities.
5.6. Facilities:
5.6.1. UM6P invests in facilities, resources, and technology to support entrepreneurship education, including co-working spaces, prototyping labs, and access to databases and market research tools.

5.8. Direction of Entrepreneurship and Venturing (DEV):
5.8.1. The DEV at UM6P oversees various innovative programs and partnerships, providing platforms for innovation and stewarding the wider innovation and entrepreneurship community. Programs pertaining to student focused entrepreneurship under DEV include:
● Entrepreneur Academy: The education and training arm of UM6P’s entrepreneurship efforts, cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset and providing necessary skills and tools to students.
● Explorer Program: A comprehensive initiative aimed at providing aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge, mentorship and resources needed to turn innovative ideas into successful ventures.
● U Founders: A program designed to support student-founded startups offering resources, mentorship and a supportive community to help student entrepreneurs succeed.
5.9.1. UM6P’s entrepreneurship curriculum emphasizes the importance of ethical leadership, social responsibility, and sustainable practices, and equips students with the knowledge, skills and ethical framework necessary to innovate responsibly and lead with integrity ensuring they contribute meaningfully to both business success and sustainable development goals.

5.11.1. UM6P provides various support mechanisms, including seed funding, networking events, access to resources and facilities, and mentorship programs to help students turn their ideas into successful businesses.
5.12. Community Engagement:
5.12.1. UM6P promotes active engagement with local, regional, and global communities, encouraging students to address societal challenges through entrepreneurial solutions. This includes collaboration with NGOs, social
enterprises, and community organizations to foster social innovation.
